A Review on the 1975's Self Titled Album

I remember being in the car listening to the radio when I first heard The 1975, the happy melody of 'Chocolate' - their first single - blasted through the speakers as my car zoomed through the sunny countryside, windows open, summer wind blowing through my hair. The feeling I felt was difficult to describe but if I had to put it down into one word it would be: Bliss. It's just one of those songs that when you hear it playing on the radio, you immediatly turn up the volume and for once no one else in the car complains because they love it just as much as you do.

Their album stars off with 'The City'. Their second single which, unfortunatly, I never once heard on Irish radio. Interesting enough as the album was in the top 5 Irish charts at one point. Pity because it's one of the best songs on their album...
Eventually it goes on to the song 'M.O.N.E.Y' which I initially liked but the part where they sing the "M O N E Y" part DID irritate me.. Otherwise the dreaminess of the song makes it an easy song to listen to. I always find myself daydreaming during it. It's a sort of sleepy song. Cute.
Then it goes onto 'Chocolate' which as I've already said is easily an album favourite! It has such a great beat and really leaves you in a good mood. The perfect summer song.
Ah yes and then my favourite song, 'Sex'. It's funny, the looks you get when you declare your love for that song in public. It's another easily likeable song from the album and one of the songs you refuse to skip when your iTunes is on shuffle.
The next song, 'Talk!' is probably one of my least favourite songs on the album. Although short, I don't really enjoy it and find myself trying to avoid listening to it. The repetitiveness of the lyrics "Why'd you talk so loud/Why'd you talk so" start to bug me after a while.

I'm going to avoid doing a review of all 16 songs because I'll probably start to bore you. But the songs I like and listen to most on the remainder of the album are 'Heart Out', 'Robbers', 'Settle Down' and 'Girls'.
I seriously LOVE the song 'Girls' it is one of the most happiest songs I have ever listened to. It never fails to have me dancing around the room and stumming about on an air guitar like an idiot.

Look, really overall this album is great! I have completely fallen in love with The 1975! Unfortunatly off timing as their concert in the Olympia is sold out! Ughh.. I really hope whoever is going has a good time because they seem like such a great band to see live and you can't help but to dance about to their songs.
